In the beginning, God created… and humanity has been creating ever since.

A bright full moon, a blazing sunset, the hush before dawn — moments like these stir something ancient in us. They compel us to pause, to marvel, and then to try, in our own small way, to recreate what we’ve witnessed. Out of a single breathtaking moment can spring sonnets, lyrics, music, paintings, and prose — even plays, shows, and films. Creation begets creation.

We are a glorious creation ourselves, and the ability to create lives in each of us. It isn’t limited to the arts. Some devote their lives to creating families. Others work to create peace. Still others dream of creating a world where love is the prevailing language. Every act of creation — whether grand or quiet — is an echo of the original spark.

And when we share what we’ve made with the world, we do so with hope: that our offering might awaken in someone else the desire to bring forth their own.

When I find myself stuck in my writing, I step outside. I look. I listen. I allow myself to feel. The sun, the sky, the birds, even the strangers I pass — they stir the creative source inside me. My mind loosens, wanders, dares to imagine again. I return to my work renewed, reminded that inspiration is everywhere if I’m willing to be present.

Because when you think about it, we are not only a creation — we are creators.

And the one thing a creator must do… is create.

What moment of beauty last stirred something creative in you? I’d like to hear from you.
